Category Religious

The Khandoba (Mhalasakant) Yatra is held every year during the month of Margashirsha at Moje Malegaon in Loha Taluka of Nanded district and is one of the most renowned fairs in South India. The yatra commences with a grand procession of the palanquin of Lord Mhalasakant Khandoba.

Devotees, citizens, and traders from various states across India participate in large numbers. A major highlight of the yatra is the large-scale trade of horses, donkeys, and other livestock. The site is located about 57 km from Nanded city on the Nanded–Latur Road.

Every year, the yatra is planned and managed by Zilla Parishad, Nanded, in coordination with the District Administration. Events such as livestock exhibitions, traditional horse riding, wrestling bouts (kushti dangal), and various competitions are organized. The biggest attraction is the Kala Mahotsav (Cultural Festival), featuring artists from Maharashtra and other states. The yatra continues for approximately 15 days and is regarded as one of the major fairs in South India.
